Plasma Nitrate and Incidence of Cardiovascular Disease and All‐Cause Mortality in the Community: The Framingham Offspring Study
BACKGROUND Nitrate is a dietary component as well as an endogenously formed metabolite and source of the signaling molecule nitric oxide. Harmful as well as beneficial effects of nitrate have been advocated. Data regarding the prognostic relevance of plasma nitrate are limited. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prospective association of plasma nitrate with cardiovascular disease (CVD) ...
متن کاملشیوع ریسک فاکتورهای بیماریهای قلبی- عروقی در بیماران تحت عمل جراحی بایپس عروق کرونر: گزارش کوتاه
Background: Cardiovascular complications have very high incidence and are the main cause of mortality in human. Although the cardiovascular risk factors among apparently healthy subjects have been studied, these factors among patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass graft surgery have not evaluated clearly. Methods: The present study is a descriptive, cross-sectional survey on 1592 p...
متن کاملPlasma asymmetric dimethylarginine and incidence of cardiovascular disease and death in the community.
BACKGROUND Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), an endogenous inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase, induces endothelial dysfunction. Although elevated ADMA has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease events and death in referral samples, the prognostic significance of ADMA in the community has not been adequately evaluated. METHODS AND RESULTS We related plasma ADMA, l-a...
متن کاملPlasma Fibroblast Growth Factor 23: Clinical Correlates and Association With Cardiovascular Disease and Mortality in the Framingham Heart Study
BACKGROUND Fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) is emerging as a novel biomarker of bone metabolism, chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, its clinical correlates and potential predictive role in a community-based setting are incompletely understood. METHODS AND RESULTS We evaluated participants of the Framingham Heart Study (seventh examination cycle of the Offspr...
متن کاملSerum albumin and risk of myocardial infarction and all-cause mortality in the Framingham Offspring Study.
BACKGROUND Coronary disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States. The association between serum albumin and cardiovascular disease remains controversial. We used data collected prospectively from participants of the Framingham Offspring Study to assess whether a lower concentration of serum albumin was associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction (MI) and all-ca...
